The folks who died 5 years ago today did not "lose their lives."
Their lives were stolen from them. You may think I'm being picky about terminology, but in this case, it makes all the difference in the world.
And to those who planned, carried out, and rejoiced over the lives stolen that day, I have a message.
I don't care why you hate us. I don't care about your religious or political justifications for the deliberate slaughter of innocents. On September 11, 2001, you declared war on human civilization and by doing so, you placed yourselves and everyone who supports you outside of that civilization. You declared war on my children, and forfeited any right to the word human. Like a rabid dog, your very existence creates chaos and danger, and like a rabid dog, the only humane solution is to put you down as quickly as possible.
There are those in my country who disagree with me. There are some who will call me ugly names, and question my sanity, or my intelligence, and that's fine; that's what America is all about. They can disagree with me and call me names and I feel no need to slaughter them or their children. I may disagree with them in the strongest possible way, and they with me, but we've both committed to a higher ideal, that men can disagree without resorting to violence to "settle" the disagreement.
That's the difference between being human, and being an animal.
