It's a Quagmire and It's Time We Pulled Out

There, I've said it. I've come to the conclusion that the nay sayers were right, and we're in an imposible situation. I hate to admit it it; I really thought we were doing the right thing, but it just isn't working out. The President had the best intentions I'm sure, but the situation was more complex than he imagined. It's time to cut our losses and bring the boys home.

The bottom line is we're not wanted there; they resent the way we're throwing our weight around; and they hate us for trying to impose our values on them.

And they've got a lot of work to do. Creating a cohesive goverment from so many different ethnic and religious groups is a monumental task, one that is probably doomed to failure anyway, but made even harder by the US presence.

The answer is simple; the US must withdraw all of its forces from Europe and let them solve their differences on their own. After all, if even the French reject the EU charter, there's really nothing more we can do for them.

No kidding! Those Europeans don't know the first thing about democracy -- why bother!

You had me scared for a minute, Rich. I thought I was going to have to come and apply the cold compress, cause I knew you had to be feverish...;)
