Quick Notes and a Prediction

  • Is Susan Estrich trying to sound like Carol Channing, or is that just an unfortunate accident of biology?
  • The Republicans have adopted a new strategy regarding the convention. Since Bush is a wartime President, they are showing that the Republican Party is a party of fighters. They are showing a tremendous contrast to the Kerry campaign, coming off as bold, forthright, and daring.
  • The convention to this point has given Americans reasons why not to vote for Kerry. Tonight, I'm betting that President Bush will outline the reasons why we should vote for him. You won't here him mention Kerry at all by name, if at all, but you'll here what the pudits have been asking for from day one of the convention: What does President Bush plan to do domestically over the next four years?

And no, I don't expect a lot of details. I'd like to be surprised, but I expect a lot of goals that sound great, with no real concrete method of reaching them. Pie in the sky as usual.
