I've been overwhelmed with the support I've received since I made my announcement. Not only do I have your best wishes, but I've also received offers of assistance, as well as several prospective clients.
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it all.
Thanks
Posted by Rich at June 3, 2004 12:56 PM | TrackBackI was glad to see the blogosphere so receptive of it. If the blogosphere can empower businesses, that's a good thing.
Any accounting related activities you needs, let me know. I'll help however I can.
So, what would it cost to print and bind my entire blog? :^)
Posted by: SayUncle on June 3, 2004 1:28 PMWell there are quite a few writers of various types around the blogosphere (as well as lots of musicians). It is not surprising that blogger novelists would try to go for one of "our own". By definition we bloggers are trying to turn trad media on its head, why not turn trad publishing on its head as well?
Posted by: Andrew Ian Dodge on June 3, 2004 7:40 PMDear Rich,
I just arrived at your blog, likely for the first time... I came to your front page after finding this past entry of yours on the Valerie Plame controversy. Your site is well-designed, and has great images, and a good layout and format.
When I saw this current top entry on your blog (the first sentence about receiving support after making an announcement), I at first was thinking that perhaps you had found out that you were going to be deployed overseas. (I saw the top image at your site - are you an active duty Marine?) Another cool conservative blogger, Greg Pulver, had a situation like that... I did a blog entry about him - also pasted at my second blog. The Pulver Press (GregPulver.com) is no longer on the web, but you can see it through the Wayback Machine. Lance Corporal Pulver returned safely from Iraq, but got injured in an accident here in the U.S... Greg later posted several comments at Josh Claybourn's blog entries, so I think that he is okay now... I should try to find out what's going on with him currently, though; Greg is a great guy.
I scrolled down a little on your blog's main page... Your Memorial Day entry is quite good; you seem to be a good writer. (I actually have not yet done my Memorial Day entry - I went in to the Capitol here in Springfield on Memorial Day for my internship; it was "midnight madness" time, as there was the midnight deadline for the IL General Assembly to pass a budget. They failed. I will be posting some stuff for Memorial Day soon (I know it's late...) - your entry will likely be one of those I link to. Keep up the good work with this blog, and with all else that you are doing as well. Congratulations on your new venture; I hope it goes well. Best of luck with everything, and God Bless!
Posted by: Aakash on June 3, 2004 7:58 PMSince you mentioned genre fiction I thought I'd ask, will you be doing chapbooks or similar efforts?
Posted by: Alan Kellogg on June 3, 2004 9:56 PMUncle, your entire blog, or just the good bits?
Aakash, I was in the Navy for just over 8 years, but now I'm a civilian. I'm glad you like the blog, and I hope you keep reading.
Alan, I hadn't given chapbooks much thought. But, now that you mention it...
Posted by: rich on June 3, 2004 11:33 PMRich,
Best wishes regarding your announcement! We might need to chat in the near future about a couple publishing options, Knoxpatch and otherwise related. I'm just conceited enough that I have actually been looking into self publishing options lately.
Good luck with it all!!!!
